Melissa Knox, '05
Melissa Knox is a managing director and the global head of software investment banking at Morgan Stanley. She describes herself as thriving on client success and has executed some of the most transformative transactions in technology, including the sale of Qualtrics to Silver Lake for $12 billion, the sale of CDK to Brookfield for $8 billion, and Blackstone and Vista’s acquisition of Smartsheet for $8 billion.
In addition, Knox has led several prominent technology IPOs, including: ServiceTitan, Samsara, Smartsheet, Qualtrics, ServiceNow, Sumo Logic, PagerDuty, Asana, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, Sendgrid, Forescout, Instructure, and Pluralsight. She is on the board of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Knox received a Bachelor’s in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
