Joe Mansueto is the founder and executive chairman of Morningstar, Inc. Mansueto founded Morningstar in 1984 and stepped down as CEO in 2016. Morningstar today has $2.2 billion in revenue and a market capitalization of over $13 billion. Morningstar is a global leader in investment research and serves individual investors, financial advisors, and institutions. Its investment data, analytics, and ratings are ubiquitous in the investment world. It does business in 32 countries and employs 11,000 people.

After stepping down as Morningstar CEO, Mansueto formed a family office and invests in sports (Chicago Fire FC, FC Lugano), real estate (Wrigley Building, Belden-Stratford, Waldorf-Astoria Chicago), media (Inc. and Fast Company), venture capital, and public equities.

Mansueto and his wife Rika Mansueto are also major philanthropists supporting numerous non-profits with an emphasis on education, health care, free markets, and all things Chicago. He serves on the boards of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Major League Soccer. His wife is a trustee of the University of Chicago.
