Mike Kurz

Director of Programs, The Investments & Wealth Institute

In this role, Mike serves to grow the strength of the Institute through continuous improvement in each of the certification programs along with connecting to members to ensure a rewarding education experience. He leads program development, contributes to business development efforts to help share the message and participates in activities that enhance candidate success.

Mike has spent more than 25 years in the world of wealth management, counseling investors and financial advisors. His professional experience includes coaching on advanced planning strategies, private equity, hedging strategies along with formalized financial planning, and he is available to speak at wealth management events, conferences, and workshops. In previous roles, he worked in roles such as the Vice President of Business Development and Regional Director dedicated to engaging with Financial Advisors and CPAs across a variety of industry segments throughout the country. Mike previously launched an independent Registered Investment Adviser to work directly with high-net-worth investors in both fee-only financial planning and personalized investment advice.

Mike earned his B.B.A in Finance at Midwestern State University and is an Investment Advisory Representative. In addition, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM designee, Certified Investment Management Analyst® professional, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designee, a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® professional, and a Retirement Management Advisor ® certified professional. Mike previously served as the founder and President of the North Texas Investment Management Consultants Association Chapter. In addition, Mike volunteers time for Financial Literacy Education and Research.
