Ask A Boothie: What's the Best Part About Living in Chicago?
In our roles as Admissions Directors, we get asked a lot of questions by prospective students.
Some of those questions, however, are best answered by current students. Our "Ask a Boothie" series will feature students answering your questions. Some are lighthearted, some are in-depth, and all get to the heart of the Booth experience. Each year our Boothies brave all four seasons and call this world-class city home. Why? We'll let them tell you as they answer the question:
What's the best part about living in Chicago?
Speaker 1: 00:09
The best part about living in Chicago is just how urban it is.
Speaker 2: 00:12
There are great restaurants here and the scene is amazing, and just doing a little bit more outdoorsy stuff, I think it's fantastic.
Speaker 3: 00:18
It is a big city with small neighborhoods within, so you're able to travel to different places, and no matter where I want to go, it's normally 15 minutes max.
Speaker 4: 00:26
You walk around and you're surrounded by these amazing buildings with a lot of different styles, so you do feel kind of in awe.
Speaker 5: 00:32
Definitely the weather.
Speaker 6: 00:35
I actually moved here from LA, where everyone thought I was crazy to go experience winter for two years, but once I moved here, I fell completely in love.
Speaker 7: 00:44
I, to be honest, love to have actual differentiated winter from the spring, from the fall. I just love it.
Speaker 8: 00:51
And it is the best city in the summer in America, hands down.
Speaker 9: 00:54
Since I came from New York, it's been great having more affordable rent for what feels like a palatial apartment by comparison.
Speaker 5: 01:02
Everyone in Chicago's super nice. There's a ton of stuff to do.
Speaker 8: 01:05
It's a world-class city with a midwestern feel.
Speaker 7: 01:09
It's amazing, because you get all the opportunities of a big city while still being able to get your head in the game for classes, for recruiting, for academics. That duality is amazing.
